Its name is Doomsday. It came from the Phantom Zone, where the Man of Steel had banished it once before. Bigger. Deadlier. Capable of killing life on Earth. Superman can stop it. But even that is not the end. Evil is in its blood. And when that blood is spilled, the innocent will fall-and Superman himself will discover the monster within. The Last Son of Krypton may become a destroyer of worlds himself, leaving the earth without its greatest protector. His allies each must make a choice. I assume this story was originally published under different titles and for some reason they only compiled the parts of it told in one title because it leaves out huge chunks of the story and doesn't even provide summaries of the events that are covered in other comics. So as a result is is jumpy, and confusing...

A retread of the Doomsday storyline for the New 52 finds Superman infected by the essence of the ultimate villain and how he deals with that. The story would have been more effective if entrusted to a single creative team as opposed to turning it into a sprawling crossover.

All I've got to say is that I did not like. Not to the boiling hatred point of giving it a one or a zero, but the stuff that bemused me far outweighed that which amused me, which makes it a below average read in my books.
