Newport Cove is one the top twenty safest neighborhoods in the US-- and one of the most secret-filled. Kellie Scott, returned to work after a decade as a stay-at-home mom, is adjusting to high heels, cooking dinner after a day at the office-- and soaking in the attention of a very married male colleague. Susan Barrett begins every day with fresh resolutions: she won't eat any carbs, she'll go to bed at a reasonable hour, and she'll stop stalking her ex-husband and his new girlfriend. Gigi Kennedy's husband is running for Congress, which means her old skeletons are in danger of being brought into the light. New neighbor Tessa Campbell seems friendly enough, until the neighbors notice that no one is ever invited to Tessa's house. And soon, it becomes clear that Tessa is hiding the biggest secret of all

Reminded me a bit of Desperate Housewives. Lots of drama in this community and we get a peek into the lives of these women.

A great story of four women and how they each have "secrets" and work through them. A few heavy parts, but with comic moments such as the emails on via the community listserv.

An easy read, though hokey at times. The author didn't dive too deep into character psyche as there are quite a few players. However, overall a decent read, about friendship, love, and personal growth.

My first Pekkanen, and found an enjoyable read. Very good on women's inner lives and laugh out loud posts on the community blog.

This book told the stories of four women who are neighbours. These women and their secrets are the focus of the story, with the mystery aspect of the plot being more of a bonus. A fun exploration of the perils and benefits of living in a small-town subdivision that also touches on some pretty serious topics.
