Add a CommentAs a hardcore Austen fan I was admittedly quite skeptical, but somehow this works! The unexpected zombie take made for a surprisingly fresh, comic interpretation of this classic story. Oh, to have been able to sit in on the pitch to see the confused looks on the executives' faces...
Truly the most enjoyable Jane Austen film adaptation I've ever seen, AND there's swordfighting. The main characters have good chemistry, the Austen world feels authentic not stage-y, the acting and sets are excellent, and the zombie plague is a nice touch. In the same way that everyone likes the Wonder Woman movie, I think everyone would like this movie, so see it.
I was surprise about how much I like this movie good script good directing I hope there is a part two to this movie.
Movie seems confused as to what it wants to be, horror or an allegorical tale of the have nots (zombies) rising up against the privileged class. Just ok.
This movie is, to some extent, a comedy. But what is more obvious is that this is actually a horror film. That could be easily understood only by the name of the movie. Frankly speaking, I don't think this movie is better than the origin Pride and Prejudice or any other good Zombie films like World War Z. Core of Zombie films is to show humanity by showing those zombie plots, however, I did not see much in this film. On the other hand, the film did not delicately show how the characters fall in love with each other. In my opinion, the only merit of this film is those delicate customs and pretty faces of those actors. I would give 3 out of 5.

Obviously a spoof of an Austen novel but done gently and with high swashbuckling style.
Sexy, bloody and not too silly.
Never read P&P and was curious to see how the zombies fit into Victorian England. It is explained in the beginning of the movie and just seemed too far fetched to believe. I love how each of the daughters is capable of fighting the undead, which provided for some pretty great action scenes. Yes, there was a romantic thread woven in, but it didn't overpower the movie from what I wanted to see - the British fighting zombies. Rather enjoyable.
It's got great acting, lots of femme fatale characters and a good way to detect zombies. It often times doesn't take itself too seriously as other zombies films do and the action is great. Although anything can be better, this one has to be one of the better movies out since the 90s.
They should left religion out of this movie. Not recommended. And the woman need a little more clothes on.
I got such a good laugh out of this movie! I love P&P, and adding the twist of a zombie apocalypse was great. Had a lot of fun watching this. :)
