Most people know about The Lunar Chronicles now, but it's NOT overhyped. It's worth it.

What a wonderful book! I had debated for a very long time about whether to read this, and I only wish I'd decided to pick it up sooner. The story was perfect, and I couldn't put the book down. The only drawback for me was the romance. I loved both the characters, and I rather wanted to grab them, shake them, and tell them just to get together already. Literary characters these days. But it was awesome!

When my mom handed this book to me, I expected it to be a typical, boring re-telling of Cinderella with the steampunk twist loosely applied to it, but it was so much more! This was a very enjoyable book with many exciting, romantic, and heart wrenching moments woven together to create a thrilling story. The only complaint I can have is that it was predictable at times, but one can argue that's because it is retelling a classic fairytale.

If the plot of this book (series) sounds like something you will enjoy, go for it! I was entertained and surprised to be surprised occasionally, although most plot events are indeed predictable. The futuristic world Cinder lives in seems just possible enough to be relatable, especially with the technology presence. Will be reading the next in the series

The Lunar Chronicles is my favorite series. Cinder is a strong, likable character. The world is beautiful and complex; I absolutely love that we are *not* centered in the U.S. It follows the plot of Cinderella enough to resonate with that soft spot, but adds so much complexity and intrigue that it doesn't feel like a fairy tale retelling.

This was a REALLY great book. I'd love to write a teen fiction novel someday, and Marissa is one of those authors that can paint a picture and inspire other writers. I also loved the originality in the storyline, which put an interesting twist on the traditional Cinderella tale. Interestingly enough, the author knew nothing about mechanics and was still able to pull this story together very nicely.

As a 23 year old who loves teen fiction, I would definitely recommend it!

This was one of my favorite books ever! If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!

Due to Cinder's status as a cyborg, life in New Beijing has always been difficult. But she is tough, smart, and resourceful, using her natural ability as a mechanic to forge a new life for herself - though it turns out to be quite different from the life she expected.

Though I am not usually a fan of science-fiction (fantasy is more my thing), I really enjoyed this entire series! It breathes new life into the traditional Cinderella tale, hooking you right from the start with a cast of intriguing characters, a deadly plague, fascinating Earth/Luna (Moon) politics, and a handsome prince thrown in for good measure. Definitely a must-read!
