I have liked Leon Russell's music from way back in his early days. That gravelly, raspy signature voice delivers the songs, both original and covers, with a real sense of enjoyment for what he does. Some interesting interpretations here of some classic tunes some of us may remember from the original artists.
Yes, Russell's always unique voice is showing its age but Leon is still quite listenable. Favorites here include "Come On In My Kitchen", "Georgia on My Mind", "This Masquerade is Over" and "Fools Paradise".
