"Armond doesn't want to go to Felicia's birthday party. Parties are noisy, disorganized, and smelly--all things that are hard for a kid with Asperger's. Worst of all is socializing with other kids. But with the support of Felicia and her mom, good friends who know how to help him, he not only gets through the party, but also has fun. When his mom picks him up, Armond admits the party was not easy, but he feels good that he faced the challenge--and that he's a good friend. Armond is invited to a friend’s birthday party, he has Asperger’s and he is very worried about fitting in. Parties are noisy, disorganized, and smelly—all things that are hard for a kid with Asperger’s. Worst of all is socializing with other kids.

This book encourages kids to help out kids with ASperger’s or Autism. Kids with Autism or ASperger’s often struggle with the ordeal of making friends and helping them out once in a while would mean a lot to them.

The pictures in the book were very bright, vivid and colourful. The vocabulary was simple and so it helped enhance the comprehension of the story. Overall, a relatively good read.

One of my favourite children's authors sensitively depicts the challenges some children face engaging in typical childhood activities like attending a birthday party in this optimistic story.
