Boston Detective D. D. Warren cannot remember how she was attacked while walking the murder scene after dark. She is later told she managed to discharge her weapon three times. All she knows is that she is seriously injured, unable to move her left arm, unable to return to work. Six weeks later, a second woman is discovered murdered in her own bed. The only person who may have seen the killer is Detective D. D. Warren, who still cannot recall a single detail from the night that may have cost her everything. D.D. may not be back on the job, but she is back on the hunt. Because the Rose Killer is not just targeting lone women, he is targeting D.D

Excellent. One of her best books yet.

Another one knocked off my D.D. Warren catch-up list. A pair of interesting sisters as the main characters. One with a rare condition that prevents her from feeling any physical pain, but ironically is a pain management therapist. The other who is an incarcerated psychopath who just doesn't have feelings period - for anyone or anything. The serial killer DD is hunting is somehow connected to the sisters. This one was a little more gruesome than the others. Not my favorite of the series, but still a good mystery.

DD Warren, BPD detective, goes back to a crime (murder) scene later that evening, and doesn't remember how she fell down the stairs, grievously injuring herself, or why she had shot 3 times into the wall.
A great thriller, with a few twists that I didn't expect, some I did.
Her pain therapist is a very interesting character, as is her sister.

One of the best books I have read. Yes it can be graphic but if you find that difficult to read, don't read this kind of book. I for one couldn't put it down.

I can't believe that Lisa Gardner actually wrote this book. The style is confusing, and jumps back and forth, not at all like her. Maybe this is what happens when writers are under pressure to put out a book every year. I wonder if ghost writers were involved. I found this very, very graphic, and too much so. Over the top. Sorry Lisa. I hope the next one is better.

I love ALL of Lisa Gardner's Books...This one however is VERY graphic but amazing. Hard to put down. Lisa G is a Genius!

I suffered reading this book until page 193, then gave up and skipped through to the (already) predictable end. Very un..Lisa Gardner-like.

On page 63 and already thinking about jumping ship. Ms. Gardner's writing has gotten more violent the last few books she has written. Will put it aside for a while and reflect on whether I want to try again later. Not a feel good book, and that is what I want right now.

it was good. The last few chapters were a don't want to put it down because you want to know. I think it is amazing for a person to live a life of not feeling pain, that would not be something I would want to experience. The characters were real good being portrayed. Love D.D and her personality, no nonsense kind of gal.

Did not even finish the book. Too graphic for my taste. Thumbs down on this one.
