In all fairness I only read the first 50 pages of this book and I just couldn't stand it any more. I kept waiting for the story of the mother/daughter relationship to start while looking for evidence of the mother mental illness or whatever was wrong with her, but we just couldn't get there. Disappointing because the summary sounded so good.
