I have read the ministry of Jesus through the Biblical perspective. This book adds the culture on background of the Jewish custom at that time. The information from this book added my understanding even deeper on the Bible context. After reading this book, I understand why a certain things happened and why people behaved a certain way. Also it highlighted some incident or occurrences that was in the Bible but I just past through quickly, it made me pause and re-read those passage in the Bible.

I thought that adding the political climate of the times made Christ's death so much more understandable. BUT, I take exception to calling this book a work of NON-FICTION. The authors clearly took great liberties with the known facts and their bibliography is a joke. This is no more non-fiction than John Jake's novel North & South.

See: . . . “Killing History : Jesus in The No-Spin Zone” . . . by Robert McNair Price 1954- . . . . .
“Robert M. Price does in Killing History what he does best: bring immense erudition, sharp critical thinking, and edgy humor to sort through a thorny topic in our public discourse about the Bible. In plain language, but without simplifying, Price expertly dissects the dilettante ‘arguments’ in O’Reilly’s Killing Jesus, exposing it for the pretentious pablum that it is. Along the way, Price serves up a first-rate introduction to the academic historical-critical interpretation of the gospels.” Robert J. Miller, Rosenberger Chair of Christian and Religious Studies at Juniata College in Pennsylvania, fellow of the Jesus Seminar . . . . . . and . . . . . “Even though serious and hard-hitting scholarship on the historical Jesus has been available for over three hundred years, modern writers continue to publish ‘popular’ accounts of Jesus’ words and deeds, blithely ignorant of what we actually know. In Killing History, New Testament scholar Robert Price shows that among the worst of sinners is Bill O’Reilly and his bestselling but ill-conceived book Killing Jesus. In point after point, Price convincingly and authoritatively argues that O’Reilly has produced a Jesus of his own imagination, rather than the Jesus who emerges from a historically informed study of the gospels.” Bart D. Ehrman 1955-, James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

LIKE A TV GUIDE THAT RATES MOVIES ONE STAR TO FOUR STARS....I OFTEN WONDER WHEN I SEE THE RATING "JUST WHO" THIS INDIVIDUAL IS AND WHY THAT PERSON FELT IT DESERVES ONLY ONE STAR COMPARED TO , SAY 3 STARS!? FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE SUBSTANCE OF THIS READERS CONTENT...NOT HOW POORLY HE READ IT! ANYTHING TO DO WITH JESUS HAS TO BE POSITIVE FOR ME...DON'T BE STIRRED AWAY FROM THIS READING...TAKE TIME TO HEAR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ABOUT THE LORD! PERIOD!

I hate that Bill O'Reilly poses as a theology scholar. I don't find any reliability in his writing.

Loved the first two (Kennedy and Lincoln) and I do like the No Spin Zone with Bill, but was mildly disappointed in this book.

This is according to the belief that you both have been brought to, yet not the whole story of Way,Truth and Life. You can also be brought to this if you genuinely ask the Father in Christ`s name while you read the Bible for yourselves. That is the Truth that He promised will set free those who repent,be baptized with the laying on of hands by elders, and your genuine turning away from your past ways. All sins He will forgive once, and if you fall back to sin again.we must repent and be made clean by His shed blood again. Christ came to save all on earth who repent and are His from the Father only, all others at this time He is not here for. He is waiting for you to call out too for saving, so don`t delay till tomorrow what is needed for today. your potential saving grace is indeed there if you break down and call HIM

Very well done. I have now experienced the audio versions of all three "Killing" books and found none of them to be a waste of time. Truth is sometimes more fascinating than fiction, fact more riveting than hypothesis, real figures more riveting than shadows. In this vein, these books succeed.
