Truly Amazed By The Character Development, December 2, 2012
This review is from: Winter's Awakening: Seasons of Sugarcreek, Book One (Paperback)
I read my library's copy of Winter's Awakening, and it was so engaging that I fully intend to read the entire series, and then to read this author's Sisters Of The Quilt series.I have already become a fan after reading her wonderful Amish mystery series Secrets of Crittenden County.

This book totally drew me into the scenes and made me feel the emotions of the characters. Her insight and abilty to describe relationships in a way that is totally believable certainly put me there.I know the way she unfolded the stories and the doubts and fears and joys, are exactly as they would be in real life.I know because I have experienced several of them myself.

I am so thrilled to have discovered this wonderful author, and I hope she will be writing for decades to come! I very highly recommend her books to lovers of the Amish fiction genre.

WELL WRITTEN WITH LOVELY CHARACTERS

I enjoyed this novel. The characters were likable and in states of emotional turmoil and the plot was interesting. I would have liked more of a contrast between the Amish family and the regular ("English") family, though. Also, this novel was a little too preachy for me with obvious Christian values, pro-life and religion undertones; but nevertheless, I enjoyed this novel and even read its sequel.
