An instant overload of gun violence at the beginning, but became more enjoyable with some great stunts and martial arts fight scenes; cast includes favorites who do their own stunts: Jason Stratham, Jet Li and Chuck Norris. Bruce Willis has a minor role, but always fun to watch. There's a bonus: the theme song: Three Dog Night's "Celebrate."

I recommend this movie trilogy to adults. The Expendables are the main characters. There is non-stop violence. This movie is not good for children. For adults, it will be fast moving with lots of action. The script is the informal military group that goes in for US CIA/FBI when they can't send it the regular military. In the script the characters are shallow. The story is weak. If you like things blowing up, lots of gunfire, martial arts battles you will love this movie.

The title of this brutally violent and relentless 2nd installment is the reality of people of color in real life especially.

So the husband says he wants to see Expendables 1 & 2 so I rented them...BAD idea. I should have stopped at the first one, but the masochist inside me says, perhaps the second one is better. For the love of god, please take my advise and NEVER see either movie.
Does anyone know why Stalone looks like a Mexican? It's an insult to Mexicans. Also at the end where Stole talks to that chick, says your too young and would never work...if I were the chick, I would say, what are you talking about grandpa. The chick was never into anyone in the movie, so get over yourself Stalone. Bad writing, bad directing bad acting.

It's not a bad movie for action movie buffs who still like to reminisce the 80s & 90s. The sequel is not as good as the first but the addition of Van Damme makes watching it worth while. The biggest disappointment is... you guessed it - Chuck Norris, after all these years, he is still a bad actor. sorry, Chuck, I like you in The way of the dragon with Bruce Lee. Just fighting and no acting!

It's terrible, but at the same time it's so good and fun like "Avenger" in old version. Where else can you see all these action stars get together and kill together? It was nice to see all of them look happy and have fun in a film with lots of make-ups on. I didn't understand what Stallone say at all, but it does not matter at all!

Movie quote - "This is embarrassing!" (This Schwarzenegger quote summed up this asinine movie perfectly)

From truly laughable hairpieces, all around, to utterly pathetic "Terminator" reference jokes, non-stop, The Expendables 2 sure sucked, big-time.

This $92 million "Bang! Bang! Shoot-Em-Up!" movie starred more tired-looking, megastar, senior citizens as (unconvincing) action heroes than you could ever imagine possible in one picture.

I can't begin to tell you how annoyingly tiresome it got watching the likes of the Italian Stallion, the Austrian Oak and the Muscles From Brussels arrogantly, yet feebly, strutting around as if they were all actually still men of about half their present ages.

I think that it was very revealing that this Rescue Mission/Revenge/Pay-Back picture was suspiciously void of any women. (So much for our heroes being sex-crazed, womanizing machomen, eh? Do you think that this was a "gay" statement?)

And even though this movie contained no gratuitous sex, whatsoever, its violence (in order to compensate for this deficiency) was so over-the-top that 100s of men were slaughtered in cold-blood just because they happened to be conveniently labeled as "the enemy".

who would have thought large amounts of testosterone would be so conducive to sleep.....

much better than the first one. You can't take this too seriously, reality is NOT the point. Parts of this are hilarious. Action like few other movies I've ever seen. The music cued every time CHUCK NORRIS appears is so perfect....cracked me up every time
