Amish vs. Vampires is not a book that I would normally pick up, but out of pure intrigue I gave it a try and was very much surprised. The author didn't waste anytime getting into the "action" of the plot, and although toward the end I was wanting more fear induced page turning and less skimming through the relationship hoop-la, I really enjoyed this book.
Although well written, and certainly an original concept, I found the marriage of Amish fiction and horror story (Shelley Shepard Gray meets Stephen King) to be just a little too incongruous for my taste. Also, some of the events were so gruesome as to be stomach-turning. If this description appeals to you, you'll probably love this book...but as for myself, if "Supernatural Amish thriller" is the hot new genre, I'll pass, thank you.
Could not have been better!
I was so scared...reading it in the dark...while it stormed outside- my backyard tree hitting my bedroom window...could just visualize a vampy comin' to get me!!!
Don't let them in! Ahhh!
Has a great view into Amish community. Has a great deal of love to but it not over whelming the book. It a great book for teenagers who like magic.
Appealing protagonist, and simple but effective story-telling.
