When Cassie's older brother,Sef, enilsts to go to Iraq her life falls apart. Her older sister, Van, started sneaking out with her boyfriend. Her little brother, Jack, with Down Syndrome stopped talking, her mother drinks and Cassie's best friend started ignoring her. Cassie thinks its up to her to fix this mess. She then start's emailing an Iraqi 13 year old girl named Blue Sky. They talk of their problems at home, the war, and their families. Cassie and Blue Sky confide in each other as if they knew each other forever. Then realize's that if she wants to help her family, she needs to solve her problems first.
