If you love horses, you’ll love this book. This is the story of the last human girl and how she befriends and tames wild horses, rescuing them from death in the bush by giving them a herd to belong to. After leaving her Settlement, she is alone for many years before coming to meet Centaurs who are looking to capture her herd in order to find a horse fast enough to win their yearly race. What she finds with them, is a sense of family, the comforts of living indoors that she has missed for so long, and the ability to talk to those who truly understand her. But there are battles she must fight to truly get what she wants in her new home, and to be recognized by those who view People as untrustworthy. She is the last of the People. What will happen to her once she accepts a new way of life?

This book was very good. I did feel there could have been more suspense, but I enjoyed it just the same, turning page after page. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, but it’s not as big as others would have you believe. You get the ending you want, and yet, are still left wondering about other things that will indeed make me pick up the next book in the series. I want to know what’s going on next!

It was ok. Good a little boring at times and the main character was whiny.
