I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. A good feel for what really happens in the Army and the mistake of being in Afghanistan.
Good book, interesting, well written. Berenson shows his mastery of the subject without showing off like many authors do nowadays
"At the behest of the CIA's Director, former undercover operative John Wells has travelled to Kabul to determine whether rumours of a leak and a drug-trafficking operation involving American soldiers there are true. Wells is almost immediately menaced by several people who wish him no good, and he clearly has his work cut out for him when it comes to ferreting out information about the drug-smuggling operation. With a riveting and all too plausible plot, terrific action, and well-drawn characters, The Shadow Patrol (6th in the John Wells series) is "highly enjoyable" and "rock-solid" (Kirkus Reviews)." An excellent portrayal of the War in Afganistan. Wells against the corrupt men who profit from the fighting. It is worth reading - especially from an ex-soldier's point of view. Although as a woman, I did enjoy the book.
An interesting story, especially the details concerning the war zone.
I've really enjoyed this series. The author keeps the action moving along and doesn't strain credibilty. Looking forward to more.
Excellent tale from a writer who clearly underlines some of the complexities of the conflict in Afghanistan and the stresses of a war that seems never ending to those involved.
Very good read. John wells, a good hero again. Takes place in Afghanistan.
He just keeps getting better - this was the best John Wells book so far - looking forward to the next one - well worth the read!
