I liked the "undercover mystery" that was part of this romantic novel! It made it difficult to put down!

Sadie Wagner goes West to work in a mercantile so she can support her family. She gets caught up in a bawdy house, a bootlegging operation and a romance. Could have been a good book, but the story gets too far-fetched.
