All she wanted was a simple Amish life . . . But now Marianna Sommer finds herself depending on Englisch neighbors. Although proud of living apart from the world, she and her newly relocated Amish family have discovered that life in the remote mountains of Montana requires working together.

As Marianna begins helping those different from herself—and receiving their help—her heart contemplates two directions. She’s torn between the Amish man from Indiana whom she has long planned on marrying and the friendly Englischer who models a closer walk with God than she’s ever seen before.

Who should have young Marianna’s heart? What is God asking her to sacrifice? Her traditions? Her community? The answer is found along the wooded paths.

So drawn out ... Should have been one single book. Also, author needs a good editor/proof-reader. Just my humble opinion :)

Marianna's indecision was too drawn out!,
It may just be me,because I do not like books of ANGST and full of woe and despair, and I got very weary of Marianna's wavering feelings between Aaron and Ben,and feel the book could have been at least 100 pgs shorter without all that. I also do not enjoy reading about characters who do not know their own mind(or heart) and cannot make a decision.

I prefer characters who know what they want, and make it clear to their intended, because it is nothing but misery to try to 'second guess' another's intentions/feelings.

This book was too much of that for my taste, and I did not enjoy reading it,as I did the first book.I'm not sure if I will read the third in this series.

However,I totally loved "From Dust and Ashes: A Story of Liberation (The Liberator Series, Book 4" by this author,so I definitely plan to read more of her work.

Different from a lot of the other Amish books I've read. It kept my attention and I've not been able to guess the ending which is always a good sign.
