I think if she has embellished it a bit, it's okay, because it's a story. Stories get like that. However, having been a city girl visiting a small town, I think it is all completely believable.

Finally, someone who appears to be even more stupid than I can be. I wasn’t nearly as entertained by Laurie’s exploits as some, mostly because I have a hard time believing anyone can be that unlucky that often. Either Notaro’s indulged in a wee bit of embellishment (not that there’s anything wrong with that, cuz we’ve all done it) or she completely deserves the title Idiot Girl.
