Very enjoyable first novel - have read others by this author and have enjoyed them also. A book about the relationships between a number of people, including those fighting in the second world war. Recommend.

I read this over one weekend and really enjoyed it. It is a lovely story built around the letters of a wartime romance which were very intimate and touching at times. The writing was graceful and the book was just a pleasure to read.
