Don't waste your time on this book, unless you are willing to abandon all other elements of a story for the sake of a good plot. The plot is good enough to keep me reading, but that's all. The writing is short and choppy in points, as if the author is struggling to communicate a scene and ends up simplifying an idea or overemphasizing something unimportant. There are glaring grammatical errors (using "where" instead of "were" and misspelling words) and the main character is not believable. This kind of lackluster writing frustrates me after reading something so phenomenal as Lionel Shriver. This book is not for those who want more out of a story than just an empty narrative that provokes minimal emotion from the reader.
