First it was a mine that exploded in the Moroccan desert. Years later, it was a stray bullet that lodged in his brain. Bazil doesn't have much luck with weapons. Released from the hospital after his accident, Bazil is homeless. Luckily, he is taken in by a motley crew of junkyard dealers living in a veritable Ali Baba's cave. Creative, razor sharp, a real delight. It's a shame that one scene keeps it from being a film you could share with the family.

A band of quirky characters take on two despicable arms manufacturers/dealers. They are the anti-James Bond found not in luxury hotels but in a hidden dump headquarters, driving a three wheeled scooter truck instead of an Aston Martin. They aren't rich or pretty but working together they are comically clever. This comedy is hard to describe, but it may enthrall you.

How can a commentary on the amoral and duplicitous arms industry be humorous? Watch this entertaining movie to find out! Warning: no blood is spilled during the main plot yet the main character gets his revenge.

This is a fun foreign film. It looks great and is a fun, engaging story with a good moral. The acting is a bit overdone at times, but that is the flavor of this movie. The effects, when there were effects, were superb. The action was shot well. Once again, a French film has entertained me more than many of the American films I've watched recently.

After seeing this director's other movies, this one left me with the sense that he was redoing old routines, and showing more of the same.
Nothing new, and not very interesting.

I liked this more than I thought I would...nothing terribly new but definitely entertaining...has that same zany style as all other Jeunet movies (eg, Amelie)...the screen is saturated with color...everyone is cartoon-ish...and nothing is serious...the underling gets back at the man in a surprisingly satisfying way...FYI, if viewing with teens...one brief scene of semi nudity as we are taken through a peep show. Jeunet's world is always fun and full of visual treats...take a quick look through the special features and see how that made that junk yard home.

Coarse Language: The actors may speak 'coarse language' in French but I don't recall any vulgar language in the English subtitles.
