This is full package: 4 audio, 1 DVD, excellent booklet.

The DVD documentary was VERY GOOD - interesting facts, video, etc. Jimi's admiration and influence with/by Bob Dylan was something I hadn't fully appreciated.

Some very good selections on audio CD's.

Thanks Janie, KCLS.

A few good jam sessions, nothing sent chills down my spine, what impressed me most was how his two bandmates were right there with him- no clumsy segues on tempo changes- tight unit with a loose groove. Worth borrowing for the accompanying DVD alone. As with Tommy Bolin, what a shameful loss of pure talent.

This is the single disk version, not the full boxed set. The unreleased stuff is a treat in that it has great production and fully formed songs going in directions not fully explored in Jimi's career but fully covered decades later; Some of the more straightforward (for Hendrix) blues on here would qualify as the best song the Black Keys never wrote. Hindsight is good to have when listening to this - some of these songs hint at music styles that bands have since build an entire career around; it's another testament to Jimi that these were just castoffs to him.
