There were too many things going on early in this story--and flash backs thrown in for good measure. Really hard to keep things straight!! However, I figured out it would all come together and was not disappointed in the last half of the story!! As with previous reviewers, agree that the characters Hawke and Stokes are great characters and even better together!! 6 out of 10 for me.

I agree with Nitetrain, Hawke and Stokes are very good characters. Yes, there is a lot of action and a very fun read. 8 of 10 for me.

Wow! There is so much action in this novel that at times it gets daunting just to try to keep up. In fact, there may me one or too many plots that cause muddling, especially the beginning. The second half of the novel makes up for this big time. Hawke and Stokes are GREAT characters. 9 of 10 stars
