A pretty good retelling of Mulan, though it was sad when her friend died.

I didn't like it. the Disney movie was better. in the movie, it was less depressing and written better, PLUS they broke into song and dance!

wow, this book was so good. I liked how the story started from the beginning. This story was more mature and realistic than the Disney movie and drew me in. I was very disappointed when the book ended because it was so good.

Dokey is such an amazing writer, I love his retelling of fairytales. This was way better than the Disney movie, even if they didn't break out into song and dance. ;) Awesome!

The amazing, inspiring story of Mulan. Unlike the Disney film, this book gives you the WHOLE story. Great read!

I found Mulan just as brave and courageous as the movie, so congrats to the author for bringing along that aspect of her personality! (Indeed, she and Tiana may be the only Disney princesses who do something about their fate.)
I liked the occasional details on strategy and weaponry, and the uncovering of her within the camp. On the negative side, Mulan's heart was swayed quite easily.
I think Mulan ought to have proved herself more to Prince Jian that she was as his equal as a man.

This was a wonderful read. I could not put it down and finished it in less then a day. This book reminded me just how much I loved the Disney movie of Mulan! My only wish is that if only the story could have been longer. I would love to find out more about Mulan and Jian! Over all it gets 5 stars from me and I'm looking forward to reading this books again!
