A sequel to This Heart of Mine finds Annabelle Granger endeavoring to promote her grandmother's matchmaking business by landing sports agent Heath Champion as a client, an effort that is challenged by Heath's arrogant nature and Annabelle's own unexpected feelings. Reprint.

HARPERCOLL

Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. Even her hair's a mess! But that's going to change now that she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is land the Windy City's hottest bachelor as her client, and she'll be the most sought-after matchmaker in town. Nothing is going to stand in her way -- not the drunk lying comatose under her car, not her family's disapproval, and certainly not the lingering effects of a broken heart.

With his money green eyes and calculated charm, Heath Champion is the best sports agent in the country. He's wealthy, driven, and gorgeous, so why does he need a matchmaker, especially a red-haired screw-up like Annabelle Granger? True, she's entertaining, and she does have a certain quirky appeal. But Heath is searching for the ultimate symbol of his success -- the perfect wife. And to make an extraordinary match, he needs an extraordinary matchmaker, right?

Thin, rich, utterly fabulous Portia Powers has spent her career making matches for everyone but herself. Her take-no-prisoners attitude has built Power Matches into the top matchmaking agency in Chicago. So what if she has more enemies than friends and she's one breath away from a nervous breakdown? Neither an upstart like Annabelle Granger nor Heath Champion's menacing, but oddly intriguing, bodyguard, will keep her from getting what she wants -- a Power Match for Heath ... the city's very own Jerry Maguire.

Soon everyone in Chicago has a stake in the outcome, right down to Annabelle's overprotective book club. When the matchmaker promises she'll do anything to keep her star client happy ... does she mean anything? If Annabelle isn't careful, she just might find herself going heart-to-heart with the toughest negotiator in town -- a man who's beginning to ask himself: Exactly how perfect does perfect have to be?

I loved this book. Pip is so funny and vital to the story. I read Dean's story out of order and decided to go back and read more. The back and forth sparring between these two is hilarious. I am now reading Phoebe's story.

I admit, all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' books tend to follow the same basic formula: a strong female lead, a handsome once-playboy but with hidden intelligence and moral depth, and some very sexy flirtations and love scenes. The thing is - the formula works. If you're someone who likes a romance that is sexy and at the same time, has real cleverness, humor, and a strong believable female lead - you can always count on Phillips. Annabelle is a great, quirky, stubborn woman who is trying to prove herself as self-sufficient and successful in her own right. Heath is smart, sexy, and assertive/aggressive about his approach to life and work because of how far he's had to come to get there. The way they interact and how they fall in love is a funny, clever, and touching ride.

Cute, lighthearted story....I really liked the chemistry between Annabelle & Heath, and the book had a nice, neat conclusion. "Pwince" is adorable...

Wow! Me reading RomCom. OK. I'm a guy and usually read Grisham and Sandford and mysteries - all law and detectives and police work. Nevertheless, this author (Susan - who I now follow on Twitter because her tweets are like micro-books :-), she really turned this old guys head around and turned my heart on. What a wonderful writer. I've read lots of her books (and some them twice) - she rarely disappoints me. I will confess I am a major Jane Austen fan too, so she's in good company. C

Cute book. Love this author. This one tackles a bit of the football scene which was interesting. Also, just the fact that someone could actually make a living out of being a true match maker was intriquing.
