The movie seemed entertaining in a serious way. However about three quarters of the way through the movie, the dvd was stuck and would not move forward.

Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman are on my "best list". Terrific actors. Loved this movie!

It's not a g roundbreaking idea or theme but the cast is so good. When I watch Jennifer Lopez do a good role I wonder why she doesn't take more character parts that allow her to use her face, which can be very expressive. Her handling of the two rowdy cowhands is priceless.
That said, Robert Redford anchors the movie and, again, communicates deep pain without overacting. Morgan Freeman, fine as always, Ms. Lopez, the fine young actress who plays his granddaughter, and Camryn Manheim revolve around his character, a deeply private and wounded man needing to move past his pain. I reallty enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it.

Not Lasse Hallström's best work but worth the time as all his movies are.

Convincing performances and a plot with many surprises that are developed at a credible pace.

A heartwarming film about grief, tolerance, acceptance, forgiveness... Robert Redford was well cast - he was in his 'zone'... around horses, on a ranch. Ditto with Morgan Freeman as his sidekick. His soothing, reassuring voice was well suited to keep Redford's character grounded. Their chemistry worked perfectly. The bonding scenes between grandfather and granddaughter were very sweet. Nice story.

This was a wonderful movie. There were some really great performances as well. Morgan Freeman is great as usual, as was Robert Redford. Becca Gardner gave a fabulous performance as Griff.

Einar Gilkyson: "You think the dead really care about our lives?" Mitch Bradley: "Yeah, I think they do. I think they forgive us our sins. I even think it's easy for them." Einar Gilkyson: "Griff said you had a dream about flying." Mitch Bradley: "Yeah. I got so high, Einar, I could see where the blue turns black. From up there, you could see all there is. And it looked like there was a reason for everything."
