Baker & Taylor
A wealthy and charming man-about town, Sir Alasdair MacLachlan receives his comeuppance when Esmée Hamilton, a young gentlewoman kicked out of her Scottish home by a vindictive stepfather, arrives on his doorstep, with her infant sister Sorcha in her arms. Original.

Simon and Schuster
National bestselling author Liz Carlyle presents her most tempting romance to date -- a sinfully sensual tug-of-war between heavenly desires and earthly delights....
He was a scoundrel, a scamp, and a hopeless skirt-chaser. So it shouldn't have been so surprising when Sir Alasdair awoke after a night of debauchery to see a young lass on his doorstep...with a baby in her arms.
She was beautiful, brazen, and utterly bankrupt. So it shouldn't have been so shocking when Miss Hamilton accepted the rogue's scandalous proposal to move in with him...and become the baby's governess.
One little sin brought them together. But when one man's wicked charms are matched by one woman's fiery spirit, one little sin can lead to another...and another...and another....

You know those books that keep coming back to you long after you have read them? Well, this is one of them for me. I didn''t think too highly of it as I closed the cover and thought, of, just another romance novel. Then it started to haunt my thoughts. The story may be like so many others (similar but not all the same! you nay sayers of romance novels!) but the writing was so superb, the characters so interesting, and the plot so very much like a good roller coaster ride, I realize in hind sight that this was a fabulous book! Now I really must read the next one in the series!
