If you can get past the title and Cary Grant's elegant English accent (even though portraying a Frenchman), you'll enjoy this movie. Shot on location in post-war Europe, it's almost like watching a documentary with comedy. That can be jarring at times, because the devastation from the war is plainly seen in the background while the characters are going through the screw-ball comedy script. I would have liked to see a little more tenderness and emotional connection between the characters, but any movie featuring Cary Grant is worthwhile. I liked how Ann Sheridan's character was shown to be strong, competent and intelligent. Sometimes a script will try to undermine a character like that to make her look silly or unfeminine. Fortunately, this movie did not take that tack. Overall, a fun movie that pokes fun at governmental red tape and conventions.
