Even if you think pirates are overdone, this one is special both for rich text & illustrations. It's sweet, funny, not a mere gimmick & illustrations are hilarious. Yes, it's longer than average picture book, but isn't that what your little pirate deserves: a real book w/depth & story & excellent words to ponder--not "book" icon to zip through bedtime story duty?

Fun book! I was more entertained than the boys. Neither of them are interested in pirates.

It was about a kid who wants to be a pirate and I like it because It is about pirate's and I like pirate's
