3 stars for overall readability and general enjoyment.

But 1 star for gross error. One that I had to give heavy weight to.

I think that I am starting to grasp the pattern here.

The reviewers (and most readers?) are basically (90+%???) female and look at these pretty strictly as Romance Novels and let any type of historical accuracy or legal accuracy be damned.

The author - who should have known better - completely disregards the Posse Comitatus Act. The one that has been around since 1878 and updated in 1981 and prohibits the U. S. Military (and active duty personnel thereof) to operate on American soil in a law enforcement capacity in any mode.

In March of 2009, U.S. Army MPs from Ft. Rucker were deployed into Samson, Alabama to assist local law enforcement with traffic control, securing the crime scene (following a murder spree) and (unofficially) establish a general area perimeter. A subsequent investigation revealed that the Posse Comitatus Act had been violated and there were a number of military prosecutions.

For information on the Act, see:

I have read ones out of order (no big deal) but getting through many more is going to be tough!

5 stars Brockmann has done it again. A skillfully written entertaining tale, rich with complex characters snappy dialogue, and sweet moments. This series have me hooked. I couldn't put it down, I stayed up all night just to finish it. I was completely absorbed. Love, love, love, Sam and Alyssa they are two incredibly fascinating characters...with remarkably strong chemistry between them. *SIGH* they are my favorite couple.... and I was most anxious to read their story. The drama, romance, emotions, and complexity of the characters is so believable it made the scenes come to life on the pages. Brockmann is the reigning queen when it comes to writing military romance. Thank you S B for writing the troubleshooters series. I love each and everyone of them guys and gals!!!!!

BEST EVER Sam/Alyssa's story is the best in the Troubleshooters series. It's a great idea to read the books in order to follow how they met first and how their relationship grew. I have read the series out of order but it's still great. Superb characters, wonderful dialogue, got romance, action, suspense, heart stopping emotions pouring out of the characters, SUPERB. This series is very addictive....

10 stars! Absolutely FABULOUS, Brockmann has it all, great style, it has all of the above: romance, action, drama, very life like characters. The Troubleshooters series is my absolute favorite and Sam/Alyssa's story is one of the best ever. Read the books in order to know how the characters really come together. Wonderful dialogue, I can't wait to read the next in this series!

IMO this is the best book in the series. It had me cry, laugh, and smile - pretty much all at the same time. Brockmann is a wonderful and talented author and the Troubleshooters storyline is amazing. I suggest reading the books in order as it would make you appreciate the complexity of the characters (and the story) even more.

I've been looking forward to this book, pretty much from the 2nd novel in the Troubleshooters series (this being the 6th). Brockmann's characters are so rich and real, and it's easy to fall in love with them. It was nice to get to know (and admire) Jules more in this book, in addition to the expansion of the Sam/Alyssa, Mary Lou/Ibraham, and Max/Gina story lines. And it is incredibly satisfying to finally have Sam and Alyssa together! The intelligence and skill of the characters is never disappointing, and Brockmann maintains the suspense without handicapping or overloading them in any way. Her books just get better and better, and I'm always anxious to read the next installment.
