Add a CommentThis is one of the best Christmas specials ever commited to film. Jim Henson and Company tell this fantastic tale of a down on their luck mother and son, who through the Christmas season with buying each other a store bought gift. They both join the local talent contest to attain the top prize. What this special does, like any decent one, is put into focus that the amount a gift costs does not bear fruit in what a heartfelt gift would do in return. "Emmet Otters Jug-Band Christmas" special is a masterwork because of the well told story. And the singing is superb. Really, a very great treasure brought to us by the man who gave so many dreamers flight, Jim Henson :)
A Muppet classic. An incredible blending of fine detail, great story and original music that is a Muppet tradition. Some of the Muppet effects here are incredible, which of course is lost on today's CGI crowd.
