This is one of my favorite light reading series. Daheim is a very good writer whose abilities grow with each book. Other than I have gotten a bit bored of Emma Lord mooning over Tom the cad, this was an excellent story. Emma has her worst fight ever with Vida, Milo is having another less than perfect romance with a woman who will never replace Emma, and the town's nuts and wackos are still trying to outdo their last escapades. This is classified as "regional fiction" but the stories are far more--Daheim is the Agatha Christie of the USA.
