Add a CommentI always enjoy Maeve Binchy. This was a collection of Christmas stories which were easy reading. I prefer her novels.
This collection is not your typical set of heartwarming Christmas stories, just as the description on the book's jacket flap says. Some of the stories are heartwarming, some are sad, and a few are simply quirky. However, I found that I liked this collection for its refreshing difference. The stories may not be sugarplum sweet or come with happy endings, but they're all realistic and some are relate-able. I would recommend this to someone looking for an untypical holiday read--or a Maeve Binchy fan.
I really expected 'more' of Maeve Binchy ..... these stories were 'querky' and 'bizarre'. not warm, fuzzy, nice nice Christmas stories. Was disappointed.
A different kind of Christmas tale, sometimes happy other times sad but always with an interesting look at the reality of people and families.
