Somewhat dated actually and not nearly as well written as it could have been... and a couple errors here and there as it actually involves numerous authors (Leedom was the editor who put the various sec tions and chapters in there... and could have done a better job of that and in fact checking).

But overall still a VG book with a lot of factual information.

Well written.

I see that there is also a 2003 version. I will have to read to see if it is simply a reprint (this is a 1993 publication) or if it has update material.

I believe that this is a very good example of why such a large proportion of the Founding Fathers were Deists, had strong to moderate Deist leanings, or were "technically" of a Christian denomination but approved of many principles of Deism and did not subscribe to orthodox dogmas and principles of Christianity mythology (see "Revolutionary Spirits" by the Reverend Gary Kowalski).

Makes so very clear the 'Mythology' of Christianity in easy to understand language,
The Book your Church Doesn't Want You to Read so easily shows how 'all' religions evolved from paganism, mythology, and superstition.

After allowing my self-delusion to cause my profession of faith for decades,I could no longer make excuses to attempt to justify belief in the god that Christianity espouses who in no way jives with the facts of everyday existence on this planet!

It just became impossible for me to believe what I came to believe as pure unsubstantiated nonsense. However,I still had a few questions, such as why in every corner of the world throughout history does mankind generally believe in a god or gods? 'Fear of the unknown/Superstition' is the NUMBER ONE ANSWER!

This book is an excellent source proving that fact,as was Why I Became an Atheist: A Former Preacher Rejects Christianity, and Divinity of Doubt: The God Question.

I highly recommend all three of these books to all those who still have some questions even though they have come to the realization that they can no longer believe in religion/God.
