this is a fun book. its short and very easy to read, funny and it has lots of posetive messages. the quality of this book is much better than typical beginner chapter books like captain underpants or the magic tree house. I am an adult, but I still found it enjoyable and entertaining. I think this would be a good book for kids who don't like reading.

This was such a nice little story about friendship, trust, and adventure! It follows Jemmy, the whipping boy of "Prince Brat", who is forced by the prince to run away with him from the castle. Jemmy and the prince dislike each other very much at first, but, as they have to escape through sewers, befriend a girl and her pet bear, and hide from two bandits who wants to turn them in for a reward, they really have no choice but to trust each other.

"Sis's skillful pictures emphasize particular events in the adventures of the orphan Jemmy, kept in his king's palace to be thrashed for the offenses by the royal heir, Prince Brat. But the prince himself takes off and forces the whipping boy to go with him, and they get into and out of trtouble on the outside, Jemmy hears that he has been accused of abducting Prince Brat. When the prince arranges for their return to the palace, poor Jemmy fears the worst, but things workout for the best at the story's satisfying close." (Novelist Reviews)
