Barbara Pym writes, like Jane Austen, about a little circle of people going about their everyday lives. But, like Jane, her powers of observation and her wit elevate her books to true literature. Recommended reading for anyone who likes to observe human nature, and likes good writing. Not recommended for anyone who likes a nuclear catastrophe, bloody murder or alien invasion in the novels they read. This is quiet and subtle, but brilliant writing!

Classic literature title, likened to Austen.
