Detective Alex Cross is trying to stop a sniper and has to work with, ,FBI agent Siegel. While planning his wedding to Bree, he gets call from Kyle Craig, the Mastermind. Alex Cross has his work cut out for him. A page turner from beginning to end.family for good.
Kyle Craig has had a facelift and is now out for revenge against Alex Cross. Added to the intrigue are two other very Bad Guys working on behalf of their boss Zachary. It is unclear when and where Zach fits into the picture (guess he comes to life in a previous book?). Overall it was a page turner and a pretty good Patterson novel.
Like others said, great book and fast paced. More of what I like about Patterson...short chapters that make it easy to read a lot of pages at once and find good stopping points for breaks. Short chapters also make it easy to remember character names and the action circles quickly back to them so you don't forgot how they fit into the story.
Much better than the contributions he has done with several authors prior to this book and reminiscent of the original Patterson. Fast-paced, predictable but avoids the obvious pitfalls, very entertaining
This was a really good book, a mix of Mississippi Burning and a Time to Kill! It was a very action packed, and emotional story that draws you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You want to root for the protaganist, some relationships and certain people. You definetely will not regret picking up this book.
Alex Cross is back in the 17th, that's right I said 17th book in the series. I began reading all these as a challenge but now I want to know how it all ends. If it ever does.
The Good News:
Patterson has got all the ingredients for a well-rounded story here and the end result is like a perfectly baked cake. There is an old bad guy that even if you haven't followed the story, you remain interested. He also blends Alex's personal life well without giving us too much down time. There is also a side story going on that keeps involved at all angles.
The Bad News:
This is not a spoiler at all, but the last sentence in the book is "But that's a story for another time." Or something like that. He's done this before and then barely follows through. There are also a few loose ends involving whether or not certain characters are dead or alive. I won't give that away just in case you'd like to read this.
Patterson does it right this time. I think he's got his groove back in this one. Go read it!
Like other "Alex Cross" crime books, the bad guy alwasys seem to be always ahead of the law and genius during his/her crime spree ,,, and then somehow turn into dunces in final show down with detective Cross. Well, not Thomas Harris's Hannibal Lector good but good enuff as a filler in between good books.
Another Great Alex Cross!! I am excited to see where JP takes it next.
Very happy that AC & BS have found love!!! <3
