I read this originally when I was in junior high and I hated it. I thought it was boring and slow. Since then, they made a movie, which I enjoyed and I listened to the audiobook. I think imagining some of the scenes from the movie made it a lot more enjoyable. Overall, I still think I would have disliked the audiobook if I hadn't seen the movie. Everyone I have talked to about reading or listening to the Harry Potter books say this is the hardest one to get through so I am eager to listen to the next one.

The full-colour deluxe edition illustrated by Jim Kay is absolutely gorgeous. The illustrations are vivid and stunning. The paper is glossy and thick. The book is just magnificent, with a built-in ribbon bookmark as a lovely added touch. I've loved Harry Potter for many years, but the deluxe illustrated versions are a dream come true. Anyone who loves Potter should experience these wonderful editions. And for anyone who is new to Harry Potter, you are in a for a treat because the stories are truly fantastic.

There is a meme or picture going around the internet of what these books would be called if they were from the perspective of the bookish Hermione Granger and I feel like they sum up the books in a way I can't at this point so I'd like to share it with you here: "Hermione Granger and the time I figured sh*^ out and literally ended up petrified for the cause and it took my friends weeks to figure out that I had the research on me."
I really liked this book, as I love all the Harry Potter books, so this review is more of just a new interpretation of the material.

(This review applies to the Illustrated Edition)
It is now tradition, since the release of (Kate Greenaway-Award-Winning) artist Jim Kay's vision of Harry Potter Book 1, for me to obtain all of the illustrated versions. They are more than just collectibles for die-hard fans. These books offer a great storytime reading option. As it is a book with pictures, that the children you're reading to (indoctrinating lol) can follow and it helps them build the world up in their heads even more. The artwork is gorgeous. It's a nice thing to see the creation of these characters through these artist's eyes. I'm also extremely impressed by the amount of detail and time that went into these illustrations - it is clear in this second book that the artist is challenging himself to make the artwork richer and more descriptive. It's wonderful.

I remember this book truly terrified me when I read it as a child. Now that I am a bit older, I am able to enjoy it a little bit more. I particularly love seeing the little glimpses of how the Weasley siblings interact with one another.

Jim Dale's narration is a perfect way to revisit the charming HP universe! Highly recommend!

The amazing sequel to J.K. Rowling's Sorceror's Stone is just as well written as it's companion. Hands down the best series I've ever read.

Not my favorite of the series, so still one of the greatest books ever.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets is the second instalment in the Harry Potter series. If you enjoyed the adventure of the first novel, I would highly recommend continuing the journey and reading the second. This time Harry, Ron, and Hermione, are starting their second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After coming face to face with Voldemort at the end of his first year, one might have thought Harry was done with the dark wizard, but no. This time, Harry will need all the help he can get from his friends to save his classmates and his school from danger. He will not only have to travel into the past, but into parts of Hogwarts that most witches and wizards would not dare to enter. Just like the first novel, this is a good read for people of any age. The detailed descriptions will bring you right into the story with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. You will feel as if you are right there with the trio discovering all the magical hidden secrets of Hogwarts. I would rate this book four out of five stars.

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is a great book that it very well written. It is filled with mystery and you never know what will happen. The book will lead you to think that it is one character but then it will be a totally different person. So I think that it is overall a great book. I watched the movie and read the book and in my opinion the book is much better. The book has so much more detail and the movies leaves out some things that the book has.

A good series full of magic, magic and a ton of more magic! Definite series for people of all ages. As Harry potter is finding out who he really is the chamber of secrets is opened, him and his friends discover, that its not for the first time. They must work together using their individual strengths to close the chamber of secrets and stop whoever opened it.

The only reason I stay up until midnight is because I spend that time (9:00-12:30) reading Harry

With a very fast paced-story, this second adventure of Harry Potter is one not to miss. Like the first edition to this series; Famous Harry Potter goes on another eventful, dangerous and magical adventure in another year at Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We follow Harry as he hears voices...That no one can hear...Faces dark cloaked villans...But who are they? And faces his greatest challenge yet again.

It's a must read!

Very fast read.

I love what I've read, it's amazing, because it's really magical and it's a book that I could learn things on, it improved my English, and it also my writing skill in Chinese. Another reason why I like the book are that I am a big potter fan! I like how J.K. Rowling wrote these books, it made everybody like it. In my opinion, Harry Potter are the best set of books!

Get the new Kwikspell kit for only $99.99.
Haha, this is one of my favourite parts!

I love the Harry Potter series, best book ever. I think I’d either be in Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but probably Ravenclaw.
